We take our responsibilities to the processing and security of research data seriously, this includes complying with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK’s Data Protection Act 2018.

Lawful Basis
GDPR requires all organisations to specify a lawful basis for data processing. Lancaster University’s lawful basis for processing identifiable personal data for accessing the toolkit is ‘contract’. For any feedback sought or provided, the lawful basis is ‘consent’. For any information personal data provided for REF (see below section 'Research Excellence Framework') is a ‘task in the public interest‘.
In addition to using cookies on our website, we may collect the following information. We will always ask before we collect such information:

Within our feedback forms, we ask users to provide information related to their health, sexuality and ethnicity in order to understand the demographics of our users. Staff at Lancaster University, beyond the MENO-kit team, may occasionally need to also access the data. This could be for compliance checks or for preparing case studies to disseminate the impact the research has had on the wider environment beyond academia. In the case of case studies, personal data would always be anonymised or removed before publication or dissemination.
Where personal data is shared with Wellbeing of Women, this will be based on your consent. Where required, we will obtain your explicit consent before sharing your data for communication purposes.
Data Security
The university has robust security information policies in place to protect your personal information. All staff in the University have a responsibility to make sure that your data is handled securely. For further information please refer to the University’s Information Security Policy and Processes.
Data including name, employing organisation information (i.e. name, size), email addresses may also be collected and stored on Wix. Collected data will be exported from Wix and saved within a restricted access project folder in OneDrive held on Lancaster University's network and created by the MENO-kit team or other staff involved in the management of the website. Data will also be collected and stored in the Lancaster University Qualtrics account. Collected data will be exported from Qualtrics and saved in OneDrive folder held on Lancaster University's network, created by MENO-kit team or associated staff member.
